Pearl Brewery Signage

The Pearl Brewery in San Antonio Texas was repurposed from its ruins north of downtown into a community destination. The developers wanted to take this piece of history and give something back to the residents of San Antonio. It started the revitalization of downtown San Antonio by creating a destination for locals and tourists alike. Giles Design was a key partner creating the atmosphere through the design of the brands, interiors, way-finding, signage, art installations, and more. We were tasked with creating an ambiance that represented the history of San Antonio and the future of the river walk alongside the client, Silver Ventures.
Project Overview
In order to cultivate a rich experience along the river walk we took inspiration from the history of the buildings and the culture of the city. We collaborated with the brands that would pioneer the space to create consistency through a design language for signage. Many of those initial brands leveraged our services to get their start. Many things have changed in the area, and a lot of those business have moved out, but the vision and ambiance remain.

I accompanied them on sight to ensure proper installation. Part of our process was to communicate to the design director, clients, and fabricators through printed assets that we all agreed upon and used to check our work. This acted as a guiding document, but also a representation of the feeling at the Pearl Brewery.
